Lion's Mane

Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is an attractive fungus with white caps, commonly found growing in groups on trees. It has been utilized in traditional Chinese medicine to enhance cognition and concentration.

As it matures, masses of fruiting bodies envelop the outer surfaces of the mushroom blocks. The mycelium contains erinacine compounds known for their nootropic properties, while the fruiting bodies contain hericenone compounds with similar cognitive benefits. Consuming the mycelium is essential to fully reap the benefits of this mushroom, making it a crucial component of its medicinal use.

Chaga

Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a mushroom variety commonly found in cold climates, often spotted growing on birch trees, distinguished by their rough, dark exterior and sterile conks. Revered for its medicinal attributes, Chaga has played a significant role in Eastern European and Russian traditional medicine for centuries, credited for its high antioxidant levels and purported ability to bolster the immune system.

The organic chaga mushroom powder we offer deviates from the traditional conks found on birch trees. Instead, our product consists of mycelium and small fruiting bodies typically hidden beneath the bark of birch trees. In its natural habitat, the fruiting bodies of chaga remain inconspicuous, rarely sighted, and quickly consumed and dispersed by forest insects. Contrary to appearance, the visible conks on trees are actually a blend of mycelium and wood, not authentic fruiting bodies.

Cultivated on an organic oat substrate, chaga thrives and efficiently breaks down the oats enzymatically, resulting in a dense, solid mass of mycelial biomass.

Reishi

Referred to as the "King of Mushrooms," reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) stands out as a true superstar in the world of fungi. It has long been valued for its ability to enhance our bodies' resilience to stress and support immune function, making it an excellent choice for regular consumption.

As it grows, reishi produces masses of fruiting bodies that take on an elongated antler-like shape, enveloping the outer surfaces of the mycelial blocks. The tough and fibrous nature of these fruiting bodies presents a challenge during dehydration and milling of the biomass, but they provide valuable bitter-tasting triterpene compounds. The resulting mushroom powder contains a blend of sweeter, milder-tasting mycelium, which helps balance out the bitterness of the fruiting bodies.

Cordyceps

Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) is a remarkable and powerful fungus with a rich history in traditional Chinese medicine. For centuries, it has been prized for its ability to bolster the immune system and deliver antioxidant benefits.

As it develops, Cordyceps sinensis generates numerous small and lightweight fruiting bodies with a vibrant orange hue, adorning the exterior of the mycelial blocks.
